Friday ying's place @ 5

hmm ok its the thrid day since i got home.. my god time flies.. alright let's recap wathappened over the past few days....

13hr flight with an hour transit in Amsterdam...

haha ok that was wat i managed at home. it really does get pretty difficult to blog doesn it? when you're busy with stuff everyday and dun get home til pretty late.. anyways.. there's so much to tell you!
( of course, its been threee weeks since i first set foot in sg..and now i'm back in uk again)

day one:
13 hr flight back home with a transit in amsterdam.. ok it was a torturous flight..
the seats were cramp. and my back was killing me.. hmm.. so after all that i manage to make it to Changi Airport in one piece. The stifling afternoon air and the familiarity of the local accented annoucements welcomed me as i stepped off the aerobridge. the queue was a pretty long one.. but by then i had already rung dad and he was on the way to pick me up.. so with some luck we should be just on time to catch him as he pulls up at the pick up point. sure enough after we've collected out luggage and made our way to the first floor i see dad's E200. but he's in the lane to the carpark. so we wait for him to park and walk over. in the mean time he doesn see us.. so i walk up and call dad, and he's naturally surprise.. that comical smile of his lights up his face and recognition strikes him.. ha.. its funny, but heart warming. ok time to meet my dad. jin greets a quick " uncle" and pretty soon we're on the expressway to Jin's house. back at lutheran towers, dad says he'll hide behind the wall while i ring the door bell.. ha. dad's funny.. ching gets the door.. she takes a while.. but she doesn seem that shocked seeing me.. shes like" oh no wonder the other on msn you ask me when was my softball.. " darn cant she look happy to see me? haa. ok perhaps she is.

anyways. mum's awaken from her nap and her eye is tearing. so i reckon she's not in the best of moods to recieve me.. ha. " wat you doing here??!!" oh well.. guess.. that's a positive statement.

i unpack, take shower, catch up a bit.. and we're off to al ameen for stingray! yum

oh i nearly forgot. i met up with jin later in the evening.. more like 12 midnight at tanglin mall.. he picked me up in his dad's car and we went to the esplande to sit to try and be a singaporean couple......lol..

Day two

hmmm today is a sunday.. and its the day jin is giving a talk at the science centre

so in the morning, jin comes by and gives mum some food stuff from uk and chats with her for a while.. then picks me and ching up to the science centre. Er is at tuition.. although the day before i promised her to bring her.

anyways.. so we got free admission to the science centre.. while jin was settin up and all, me and ching went ard.. and i spent sometime talkin to her. i can feel that she's really stressed up with sch and softball. and indeed she tears.. i try to soother her and tell her that sec sch ain tht tough. she seemed better after that. soon er rings me on the mobile complaining that i left her out. haha.. ok.. she got dad to send her to the science centre.. and brought her in. the talk was pretty good, i havent seen the presentation myself cos jin wanted me to be like the rest and see it for the first time on that day. yep.. it was prettty good.. and vidoes and all. very interestin and informative. then there were the real specimens which we could all take a look at later. wish you could have been there too..

Anyways,. after the talk, we went round the science centre and play some mind controlling thing we were hooked up to machines.. and had to move a ball with your mind. so it was like a mind battle thing. way cool.. we had a good laugh.. me and jin. the ball din move. ching and er. ching won all the time. ha.

it was gettin pretty late so we sent ching and er back to mum and dad and me and jin went to have dinner at his house. ok meet the parents.

the mum cooked typical home cook food which was yummy.. and yeah there was the typical questions bout myself.. the session went pretty well i tot. after that jin came back to my place to stay over.

day 3: its monday. and we din wake up til like noon. or one.. erm. ok mind blank cant remember wat i did here. ok anyways. the next few days was simply walking round and getin stuff.. like going to simlim to get stuff.. ok i just tried to draw out a calender of wat i did over the two weeks and some days just draw a blank.. haha. not that i din do anything, just i just cant remember! ok as for today i cant remember cept tat i had yong chow fried rice for lunch

day 4:
i think i went to either ikea or sim lim i cant be sure. yeah at ikea we order liek three main courses which includes a 15 meatball main meal. we were stuffed!

day5 :
today jin has an interview some where near sim lim so we went to sim lim in the morning to look ard. he. he brought me breakfast, veg bee hoon.. but i had such a full breakfast, i just couldn down it. yep.. after he's interview he dropped me off at far east, to get my hair done. then it was fish n co! yumm.. seafood platter for two.. and afterwhich we sat ard to listen to some guy who was singing there, sing. ha.. then we started coming round to get pple to sing.. and yeah jin sang. erm.. it was a first for me.. so whilst i was touch.. i din know how to react. erm..... apart from not so fantastic singing. i did think it was sweet.

day 6 :
went to go and get my photos done up and i spent all night compiling my photos together so pple who were coming for my party on fri would have something to browse through. i think i went bras basah today to get some stuff as well.

day 7:
today is the party! haha.i din wake up til pretty late since i was up doing my photo stuff. .yeah. in the afternoon, me and mum went round gettin our food and all. and yeah i met the uncle who's always been cooking for us.. and had my first plate of hokkien mee!
the party was packed, i had bout 40 ppl coming. incl relatives and all.. and yeah.. it felt great to be seeing everyone again.. though i must say that i din have time to really get to talk to everyone. and yeah... raine came round later with her doggy. and jasmine, jin and raine and me.. spent the night downstairs at the pavillion talkin bout general stuff.. all in all. i was glad i had the gathering. though there's always this phobia that no is gonna turn up.
oh yeah i see baby edson for the first time today. and i hear that janson kor is getting married!

day 8:
saturday, hahaa. jin drove.. so i brought him to mum's secret place, york hotel to park for free..lol. then we had lunch at the soup restaurent and then went to taka to eat all the nice jap food. in the evening i had a fren's 21 to attend which happens to be near jin's place. so he drops me off and picks me up after that. thn we went to ah mah's house to chat for a while. we decided to go watch a midnight movie seeing that its saturday... we went to GV grand to watch congeniality 2. but both of us fell asleep for most part of the show. that was funny.

day 9:
sunday... i know we went to eat taiwan porridge after dinner... haha.ok i cant remember wat i did in the day, ok this becoming scary..having memory lapses..
oj! i remember now! we went to JB to see JGHF.. yeah........ hmmm.. sigh.. i really dunno if he's hinting that i need to be more careful pickin the right guy or not. he said something bout a hand. and that all your five fingers must be nice. if its not. then you shouldn want it. hmmm.. hidden meanings? i dunno. see how things go i guess..

day 10:

Monday. was suppose to be going back to NJ but apparently it was closed or something. anyway i went to british council then went to queensway to get my suit collected. apparently the BC needs me to do some stuff for them again on wed. ther'll be an inerview with Teens and a photo shoot for their cook book. My suit still needs doing and i made an extra trousers. so yeah later on i met eric in the evening at holland V. oh yeah whilst i was at queensway i learnt magic! hhaah. yeah i passed by this shop selling magic tricks.. and the showed me the spoon trick. you know the one where this guy can make a table spoon bend right in front of you? yeah i learnt how to do it! its wicked.. ! lol.. ha. anyways.. i went holland v and then bought some stuff from zed and zee and seeing that i still had loads of time i went to do manicure. haha. but the problem with me is that manicure hardly lasts very long. jin came round in the evening. bout 11 i thinnk. yeah he was pissed at me cos i swapped appt sunddenly. yeah i met eric at 7 when i was suppose to be meetin jin at 4. so he's like wat's teh point of meeting. and that we had arranged it a long time ago. anyways.. we made up after that.

day 11:

so i went over to jin's place last night, so his mum cooked claypot rice for lunch. after which we went to carrefore. but along the way as we were tryin to find parking places, we came by the bra basah food place and there was teh famous chicken rice. so we ordered a pack and some lime juice and sat in the car and ate.
then we parked our car at millenia walk, then we saw long john silvers. we ate again. erm.. luckily that was bout the end of it. haha then we went to parkway to look for hui hui jie jie. we had aloe vera drink and chendol. and we have sugar cane as well.. ha.. yeah then we went to ecp to sit and enjoy the sea.
the plan was to go night safari after he sent me home and changed and everything. cos he had to return the car by 8 pm as well. yep. but the stupid 165 was such a long journey from our place to ang mo kio that we decided that we weren going there.
so we sat in the heartlands of ang mo kio and had a plate of good old char kway teow. so we sat there.. and we started a round of revelations. so we each were suppose to say something to each other that the other party has never known before. yeah so i revealed to jin that initially i was gonna write him off.. that he wasn my type of guy, but yeah.. i guess. sometimes we do have to look beyond the surface to see the good in pple.

day 12:
jin went for dental and i went for my photoshoot thingy with the brit council. it went alright. they gave me a damn nice 256 MB thumb! woo hoo......... anyways.. i went to borders and read a couple of books before meetin up with jin briefly at olio dome, then later i went to cafe cartel with limin at cine. the salad at cartel is simply brilliant. and after that i went to meet jasmine at Balaclava, a bar outside suntec. yeah.. we sat there with two bottles of carlsberg. in the humid night of the tropics, that is not a good idea.

day 13:
went for a dental check up at 845. man.. i was nervous.lol.but luckily my teeth is in perfect condition. so that's ok. then we went to pulau ubin!!! hahaa. we bought two packs of nasi lemak, some goreng pisang, a pack of chai tow kway and some chin chow at changi village. then took a ferrry to pulau ubin! we rode tadem bike, which was a first for me.so it was exhilerating. i think its more cos you dun have control over the bike and i guesss i just dun like being out of control. ha.. yeah.. we were quite losers la. the only time we rode was when we were going downhill! the uphills were painfully stagnant.. despite the fact that both of us were riding.. i bet there's something wrong with the bike. then we were at some beach, the the stray dog ate our nasi lemak. so sad. but seeing that it was shivering and all.. we decided to give it the whole packet. luckily out chai tow kway was still intact. ha..
oh and on the way back to the bic kiosk, i stood up on the back and then lend forward to give jin a hug. he turned around saying " thats so sweet" , and the next thing we knew the bike was off the road and going wildly on the soil. luckily the bike din give way. haha. and managed to steer it back to the tar rd. but it was such a classic, it was so funny.

i came back, met yoon and the rest for dinner. we went to some korean bbq place. its abit like eating sukiyaki only that this is korean style.

we waited ages for the cab home.

and then i had an hour chat with mum and dad. interrogation session. ahah. its quite funny la.. cos they were sayin they weren comfortable with the idea that me and jin were behaving like we were married?!!! wtf? haha. ok its prob cos he's been stayin over and all.. actually he stayed over only twice. oh well. but i guess. it was more for them to hear a reassurace from me that i was sensible to know wat i was doing and that i know gettin a degree is the main thing that i'm there in uk. yeah. so i supposed after the talk , it set their minds at ease. but it really was interesting cos dad did most of the talking! imagine that. ha. yeah dad was tellin me bout new zealand days and he being an overseas grad, couldn get used to the idea of cohabitating before marriage and all.. yeah oh well. i guess... yeah.. but whilst it was grilling.. i'm glad that they are more at ease and that i'm not hiding anything from them. that's the impt part for me. i wouldn want to hide a relationship from them.. i think that would be painful. family acceptance is very impt to me.

day 14:
i went to the office today to take some pics of the fork lift truck a project that i'm workin on. then went to nj for lunch, then came home and prepared dinner for wen shan pee perng and rencheng.

yeah. i did baked risotto, spanish omelette and some tortilla wrap thing. ha. i think its too western. cos not all of them enjoyed it. oh well.

wish you were here to try. there' were alot of leftovers in the end. oh then we had black berries in whisky.. the ones that jin bought for mum the last time. which were really nice. i think htere's more left so you can have some when you get back in june.

i had a chat with rencheng all the way til like 2 am.

day 15:

today i'm flying back.. i went to queesway again to get my suit then seeing as it was quite early, we went to black canyon coffee to eat the fusilli tom yam soup thing. then we went home, mum was suppose to drop jin off at the nearest station.. but we took alot of detours. to pick er up. this and that. yeah.. then she was telling jin bout the uncle who cooks for our buffet he's encounter with JGHF.
anways,.. i went to see por por.. she wanted to give me money. but yeah mum says no. we had took some time tryin to push the money back.
then we went to pick ah ma and godma, to go to the airport to eat dinner at sake sushi. hmm.. ah mah din really enjoy it.. oh well.. i think food is begining to lose its appeal. or rather. when you're greeted by an abundance of it. you dun really long for it. its like now i'm back. i wanna eat alot of stuff.

so anyway finally it was time to check in and all. yep. and yeah. the exciting part the meetin of the families. and seeing wenshan's bf! haha.ok. yeah. wen shan's bf is the same age as jin, he's running an installation art shop. so its pretty cool that our bfs are like in similar lines. ok then there was like photo taking stuff and all. and it can get a little tricky with manners and doing wat's appropriate or not.and suddenly i wish my hair wasn red. hahaha.. quite funny.

okok so this comes to the end of my two week break back home. in retrospect i think i did quite a bit of stuff.. and yeah. at least everyday was fulfilled.. ha..


now that i'm back here. i'm just slackin man. sigh. oh well. you take care dear gal.. i think this is long enough to make up for all that time.. yeah..

by the way i've been reading this book called Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami and its been a pretty good read. so if you haven got much to do perhaps you can pick it up and browse through it. :)
